In the light of the serious allegations made last night on RAC 1 by the journalist Xavi Bosch, the President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, wishes to make the following statement:

1. The allegations are totally false and they absurdly try to involve the President of Real Madrid in the legal proceedings started by a member of FC Barcelona against the club’s then President, Sandro Rosell.

2. The President of Real Madrid demands that the journalist who made these false allegations issue a clear and immediate rectification on the same radio station.

3. If this rectification is not made, the President of Real Madrid will sue this journalist in order to protect his honour, his privacy and his reputation. To this end, he has instructed his lawyers to study the content of these allegations.

David Moyes has vowed to show no mercy to any underachieving Manchester United players, after his first six months at the helm at Old Trafford. The message from the Scot - shape up, or be shipped out.

"What I will do is make it right. I am going to get better players in. Unfortunately I don't think there will be more in January. But it will change".

Pérez intervened to see lawsuit against Rosell heard - RAC1

Carles Vilarrubí, vice-president of Barcelona, has refused to deny reports on RAC1 that Real Madrid chief Florentino Pérez used influential contacts to ensure Blaugrana member Jordi Cases’ lawsuit against Sandro Rosell would be heard at Spain’s National High Court.

In an interview with the radio station, Vilarrubí said: “As vice-president of Barcelona, I can’t deny that.”

According to Monday's reports, a high-ranking figure from the Spanish justice system revealed to the Barça board that Pérez telephoned former Spanish PM José María Aznar in the wake of news in El Confidencial that Cases’ lawsuit would not be admitted. Aznar in turn called Spain’s Justice Minister Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, leading the lawsuit against the now former Barcelona president to be accepted.

Discussing the Neymar affair, Vilarrubí added that “one day everything that has happened will be known, as has happened with the ‘Di Stéfano affair’.”

Two Barça executives to explain Neymar figures to the Liga

Two Barcelona executives, Raul Sanheli, head of football, and Antoni Rossich, managing director of the club, travelled to Madrid to attempt to explain the figures behind Neymar’s signing to the Liga in a bid to clear up any doubts the organising body has over the deal.

Sources at the club said that the trip wasn’t specifically to discuss Neymar, and that the meeting was due to take place in any event to discuss other matters. That said, the Catalan club took advantage of the meeting with the league’s organising body to discuss the controversial contract, given that Javier Tebas, president of the Liga, had said his organisation would be checking to ensure the operation was legal.

Raúl Sanheli appeared with new Barcelona president Bartomeu in his first press conference and explained that while the transfer itself was 57.1 million euros the total paid was 86.2 million.

Barcelona negotiating in secret with Neymar rights holder DIS

The club have offered to pay the company eight million; they are seeking 20 to prevent going to court

Barça are secretly negotiating a compensation payment to DIS, the company that held 40% of the ‘rights’ to Neymar before he was signed by the club. According to sources close to DIS, Barcelona have offered to pay eight million euros – however the firm want 20 million if they are not to take Neymar’s father to court.

According to DIS, Neymar’s father sold the players rights twice, which is a criminal offence. Once to DIS (who say they have them up to 2014, which was when Neymar planned to leave Santos) and also to Barcelona, who now have both a moral and contractual obligation to do something.

A contractual obligation because the club signed a clause stating that they would cover any possible economic loss arising from a claim by DIS. In a letter dated 19 July Rosell wrote to Santos, when the figure of 57.1 million became known, attempting to explain why “the total acquisition cost for FC Barcelona exceeds the transfer fee received by Santos FC”. His explanation was that “the remaining amount to reach €57,000,000... is related to other payments FC Barcelona had to bear in order to remove previous agreements with other parties”. Barcelona say it wasn't "for the acquisition of any right of the player", but DIS clearly don't feel that is the case.

Before Neymar's transfer was signed DIS sent two lawyers (without prior appointment) to the Camp Nou. Thiago Ferro and Roberto Moreno wanted to explain to Rosell why they should be negotiating their 40% holding directly with them. But Barcelona refused to speak to them. DIS then refused to sign the transfer, which was only signed by Santos and Barcelona (17.1 million euros, of which DIS received 6.8 million), and waited for Rosell to fall into the trap.

Because in 2008 (when the player was just 16), when Neymar’s father sold DIS 40% of the player’s rights, they got them up to 2014. Neymar’s father received 5.5 million reales from DIS in 2008 (1.7 million euros). DIS itself is a branch of Delcir Sonda, a multinational exporter of food and drink who became involved in the football business buying player’s rights.

Right now the company is in a very good position with regard to the Neymar case. They’ve already got eight million euros guaranteed (which Barcelona will need to add to the cost of the transfer) and it could be more if Barcelona want to avoid being taken to court.
