Roma are expected to announce shortly that they have signed Belgium international midfielder Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari. The 25-year-old has previously been linked with Tottenham and Southampton.
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has been asked about the possibility of bringing Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic back to the club on loan following the injury to Giuseppe Rossi. Montella, who is also interested in Metalist Kharkiv's Alejandro Gomez, said of the Jovetic rumours: "It's not science fiction, but he is injured too."
Fresh from Inter confirming last night that Fredy Guarin would be staying at the club in January, the Colombian midfielder's agent has stated there was never an offer from Chelsea. Guarin had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Inter had suggested talks had taken place between the two clubs.
Arsenal have been linked with a £12million bid for William Carvalho this month, with reports also claiming Manchester United are interested in the Sporting CP midfielder. However, Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho insists the 21-year-old won't be sold in the January transfer window.
We are hearing that Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle it out to bring former Chelsea man Salomon Kalou back to the Premier League this month. Sky Sports revealed last week that a number of Premier League clubs are chasing the signature of Kalou. Kalou is keen to leave Lille and return to the Premier League with London his preferred destination, despite interest from Besiktas in Turkey.
Tottenham are thought to be stepping up their interest in Kalou, as they see him as a possible replacement for Jermain Defoe who is being strongly linked with Major League Soccer side Toronto FC. Arsenal are also ready to firm up their interest in Kalou as they short of attacking options following the serious knee injury to Theo Walcott ruling the England man out for the rest of the season.
Mario Mandzukic is among those to have been heavily linked with the move to England, with Arsenal said to be keen, but Bayern Munich sporting director Mattias Sammer claims the Croat remains part of their long-term plans even after the announcement of a deal for Robert Lewandowski.
"Mario remains a key player for us. However, he has to accept - like the rest of the squad - that there will always be stiff competition for places".
Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has underlined the club's commitment to keeping hold of Paul Pogba. He has also revealed that Andrea Pirlo is close to agreeing an extended stay in Turin.
According to reports in France Football, Paris Saint-Germain have sounded out a possible approach for Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata. The Ligue 1 giants are also keeping a close eye on Paul Pogba's situation at Juventus.
The Italian media believe Roma have won the race for Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari. Nearly every top side in Serie A was chasing the Belgian midfielder.
Liverpool's pursuit of FC Barcelona forward Cristian Tello and Basel winger Mohamed Salah may be postponed until the summer. (Daily Mirror)
Erik Lamela has struggled to make an impact at Tottenham and reports in The Sun suggest that Spurs are ready to send their big-money flop back to Italy. Lamela's representatives are said to be in discussions with Inter and Lazio regarding a possible loan switch.
We have a couple of lines from the Daily Mail regarding Manchester United to kick things off, with it suggested that David Moyes has a £200m transfer war chest to work with and that Serie A outfit Fiorentina have expressed an interest in taking Nemanja Vidic.
[...] Belgian paper Het Nieuwsblad says Manchester United are is interested in Chelsea's Kevin De Bruyne, but he appears to be Wolfsburg bound.

Ter Stegen to Barcelona is effectively a done deal
Max Eberl, sporting director of Mönchengladbach, says the player is Barça-bound. “He’s leaving for the club that has appeared in the press”.
The signing of Marc-André Ter Stegen by Barcelona is just a question of time. The deal has been done and all that remains is for the necessary steps to be completed. On Saturday Victor Valdés, with an admirable attitude, said to the cameras of TV3 that “I don’t think it’s a bad thing for the club to announce the name of my replacement while I’m still here. I’ve made it clear that I want to leave and the best thing is to turn the page on the subject and do things as naturally as possible”.
Less than 12 hours after Valdés spoke and it was the turn of Borussia Mönchengladbach’s sporting director, Max Eberl, who said on Twitter that the goalkeeper had decided to reject the club’s offer of a renewed contract. This was just hours after Sky Sports had said that Ter Stegen wouldn’t continue in the German outfit. His future is in the Camp Nou.
For his part Ter Stegen has said that “the decision not to renew with Borussia was a tough one. It’s not been easy, but I hope the fans understand my decision. I’ve got a lot to thank them for.” Barcelona is waiting for him.

Juventus officials have announced Andrea Pirlo will soon renew his contract.
According to 'Daily Star', André Villas-Boas could be the next AC Milan coach as Allegri replacement.
Reports from Switzerland in Basler Zeitung claim that a number of Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation of Basel forward Mohamed Salah. The 21-year-old Egypt international is said to be on the radar of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the trio face competition from Atlético Madrid, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, with suggestions the latter club having already made initial contact with the Swiss side over the talented youngster.
We brought you some comments earlier from Nemanja Vidic's agent which suggested the Manchester United defender would not be signing a new deal at Old Trafford, and now there are reports in Spain from El Mundo Deportivo that Barcelona could be interested in a summer move for the Serbia international centre-back.
Tottenham winger Erik Lamela has been heavily linked with a move back to Italy over the past few days and La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that one possibility could be a swap deal with Juventus for Mirko Vucinic, which would take the Montenegro forward to White Hart Lane. It is reported that club officials have already discussed such an exchange.
